Trinidad and Tobago: The police officers in Trinidad are investigating the stabbing incident that left a 14-year-old fighting for his life. According to the information, he was a student of the Fyzabad Secondary School, and the brutal incident took place on Monday, June 10, 2024.
The victim has been identified as Adriel Hunte, a Form 2 student. The sources revealed that around 2:30 pm on Monday, the teenager came out of the school gate and was trying to cross the road with his friend when he was approached by another student of the same school.
Upon reaching there, the suspect asked the victim ‘What is your problem,’ to which he replied that he does not have any problem but both of them began arguing and eventually this led into a scuffle.
Shortly after the suspect pulled out a knife from his pocket, he stabbed the 14-year-old male in his chest, and a taxi driver in the area witnessed the incident and rushed to take the victim to the Fyzabad Health Facility.
He was then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital to be further examined.
The information added that the doctors at the San Fernando General Hospital told that the victim’s right side lungs was punctured and will be warded. He is presently listed in stable condition while PC Robinson is continuing investigations into the incident.
The suspect is assisting the Fyzabad police in their investigations in connection with wounding with intent.
The reports further added that Hunte’s mother, Delana Hunte, aged 39, reported the incident to the Fyzabad police officers on June 11. She told them that the incident took place around 2:45 pm, and a friend told her that her son had been involved in a school fight and was seen bleeding from his chest.
Police have been yet unable to record a statement from Adriel as he was in extreme pain.
