St Kitts secures prestigious Green Destination of the Year award

St. Kitts and Nevis: St. Kitts has proudly secured the award of the Green Destination of the Year during the Caribbean Green Awards. By winning this award, the island has shown its utmost dedication and commitment to becoming a sustainable island state.
E-Finity crowned the winners of the Caribbean Green Awards 2024 after almost 20,000 votes from individuals.
St. Kitts has once again proved that the Green Movement on the island is thriving like never before. The island is working on everything from cutting-edge marine conservation initiatives to eco-friendly hotels revolutionizing sustainability.
The list comprising of 10 winners was released by Caribbean Journal on April 21, 2024 with the publication extending its congratulations to all of them.
The editor and publisher of the Caribbean Journal, Alexander Britell, said that this year’s winners are a testament to the growing focus in the wider Caribbean region on sustainability and it is amazing to see the depth and diversity of the stakeholders who are not just giving lip service to green but are also making it a foundation of their own work.
While sharing the huge development on her official Facebook account, Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson said that this award recognizes the Ministry’s commitment to sustainable tourism and marks a significant step towards becoming a sustainable island state.
She further noted that at the Ministry of Tourism, the team doesn’t just talk about being green, they make it the foundation of the industry.
“Sustainability is our priority, shaping a brighter future for our island and community. Thank you to all who support our journey towards a greener, more responsible tourism model,” stated Minister Henderson.
