St Kitts-Nevis: Two persons convicted for embezzlement, forgery

Serene and Angelina Phillip of Upper Monkey Hill were convicted on multiple accounts after their appearance at the High Court on June 19.
The case was presented by the Director of Public Prosecution, Valston Graham who was assisted by Crown Counsels Greatess Gordon and Teshaun Vasquez. The accused were represented by Attorneys Chesley Hamilton and Vadeesha John.
Serene was convicted of stealing in excess of EC$700,000.00 while Angelina was convicted for receiving in excess of EC$50,000.00.
Serene Phillip was found guilty on five (5) counts of Larceny, five (5) counts of Embezzlement, one (1) count of receiving property on a forged document and not guilty on two (2) counts of Embezzlement. Angelina Phillip was found guilty on three (3) counts of receiving stolen money.
Both women are remanded at Her Majesty's Prison awaiting sentencing on August 02, 2019.
The offences were committed between January 2009 and May 2014.
