Two recent robberies have blighted St Kitts, resulting in more than EC$300,000 worth of money and items being taken.

The first occurred on Thursday evening, when the suspects targeted a cottage in Mattingly Heights.

WIC News understands that the property belongs to a prominent retired businessman, although nobody was inside at the time.

Sources have since said that furniture and valuables worth more than EC$300,000 were taken.

The scene after the robbery was left looking like a “dancehall”, they said.

And yesterday morning word reached WIC News that Vibes Beach Bar, a popular spot on the Frigate Bay Strip, was broken into during the night.

Nearly EC$10,000 was stolen in this second robbery, it is believed.

Police have not issued a statement on either of the incidents.

WIC News has contacted the public relations department of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force for further information.
