St Kitts and Nevis listed among countries to defeat COVID-19 pandemic, says International Group of 4000 scientists
Beating COVID-19 pandemic, Caribbean Island St Kitts and Nevis is amongst the top 27 countries that have successfully overcome the global pandemic.

The coalition of over 4000 scientists, International volunteer organization ‘endcoronavirus.com’ described about which countries do best in beating the COVID-19 pandemic and listed 27 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Bhutan, Bahamas, Brunei, Cambodia, Dominica, Fiji, Holy See, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Laos, Mauritius, Monaco, Mongolia, St Kitts and Nevis, Samoa, Holy See, San Marino, Solomon Island, Sudan, Somalia, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Vietnam and Vanuatu.
The success of curbing the virus in St Kitts and Nevis is credited to the wise administration of Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris as his government acted quickly and was among the first to implement travel restrictions. So far, St Kitts and Nevis have recorded a total of 35 coronavirus cases, and there are no COVID-19 cases despite the borders being open for all travelers.Along with that, St Kitts and Nevis imposed a state of emergency with complete closure of the country for more than six months when positive cases started to appear in the federation.
St Kitts and Nevis also exhibit a state of the art hospitals and are well equipped with state-of-the-art amenities to tackle severely impacted patients. With the help of medical specialists, the federation conducted a massive amount of testing while adhering to strict isolation protocols.COVID-19 crisis severely impacted the economies globally as most of the nations had to implement complete shutdowns. Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris introduced a stimulus package to keep up the economy as the government claims to hold a surplus economy in the past five years. Nevertheless, the federation also successfully conducted elections during the lockdowns in which PM Harris led the Team Unity coalition recorded landslide victory.
