St Kitts and Nevis: Attorney general and police chief sued over detention
US national 'held for 12 hours'

A US man detained by police as he was leaving St Kitts has followed through on his promise to file legal action.
Matthew McMillan, president of political consultancy BuzzMaker, was picked up by police at the RL Bradshaw airport on 4 November.
He was released 12 hours later without charge. According to police, he was detained as part of an investigation into a drone being flown close to the house of Nevis Deputy Premier Mark Brantley. After his release he swiftly threatened legal action against the government.Court proceedings against three individuals were filed on Friday, 14 December, according to WINN FM.
The trio is Attorney General Vincent Byron, Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley, an a police inspector.

There has been no comment from either of the name parties as of yet.
McMillan has asked the court to rule that his detention was "unreasonable, unlawful, unconstitutional" and violated his rights – which should have been protected under the constitution.
He is also seeking compensation and damages, as well as a declaration that the search, and seizure of his property, violated a number of his rights.
