The president of Cricket West Indies stated: "What makes this tournament special is that it's the first time we've had a tournament of this nature. It's under 19, but that's what makes it exciting because it's the future. Together with hosting the tournament, we need to produce a team that will be a winning team.

Jonel Powell- St Kitts and Nevis Sports Minister said: "Come January, we welcome the world up here - St Kitts and Nevis to watch top-class cricket over five impressive venues. We recognize the significance of not just cricket, but sports in particular and sports tourism in general; cricket, largely because that is the national sport in the West Indies.

He, while referring to the President of West Indies Cricket Association Ricky Skerritt, stated, "We continue to do what we have to do to develop our own cricketers, and I'm glad Mr Skerrit referred to the five players based on Nevis who have had this opportunity to make the last team."

The island further cited that it will ensure that the tournament is held under COVID-19 guidelines and health protocols.
