St. Kitts and Nevis: Beloved citizen Delbert Samuel dies, PM Drew expresses sadness

St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew extended his deepest condolences to the wife, family, and St Peter’s community on the sudden demise of Delbert ‘Butu’ Samuel. Samuel was a popular businessman and a beloved member of the country.
While expressing his condolences, PM Drew said, “On behalf of my wife and I, the Constituency #8 Labour branch and the Labour Party, I write to extend deepest condolences to the wife, family, St. Peter’s community, friends and the Anglican Church on the passing of Delbert ‘Butu’ Samuel.“
He further noted that he met Butu as a fellow 4-H member several years ago when he moved to the St Peter’s community and added that he fully embraced his adopted home and was very vibrant as a community advocate, and he worked and volunteered in several areas.
“We are better because of his contribution. Mrs. Samuel, please know that we love you and that we are here for you,” added the PM while addressing the deceased’s wife.
It is to be noted that Samuel was affectionately known as ‘The Fruits Man’ and was a member of the SCASPA sports club as well as the tourism family as a taxi operator.
While remembering him, the Tourism Authority said that his contribution towards the development of the sector is appreciated and will be missed. It added that as a taxi driver, Samuel played an important role in creating positive first impressions for the visitors.
Meanwhile the citizens and residents of the Federation also took to Facebook to express their condolences to the ones grieving over the sad event.
“Condolences to his wife Cassie, the children, grandchildren, families, friends, church family, and comrades. We shared some bitter-sweet moments since you joined the St. Peter’s community,” wrote a user named Judy Tyrell, while another user said, “Condolences to his wife, his extended family may the soul of our dearly departed brother Delbert Samuel aka Butu-my school mate RIP.”
