SKN records six new COVID-19 cases

The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis has recorded six infection cases of the COVID-19 virus on 2 August 2021, taking the total number of active coronavirus cases to fifty-one, according to the report shared by the Health Ministry of SKN.

Saint Kitts and Nevis: The Caribbean island of St Kitts and Nevis has recorded six infection cases of the COVID-19 virus on 2 August 2021, taking the total number of active coronavirus cases to fifty-one, according to the report shared by the Health Ministry of SKN.  The report further notes that a total of 546 patients have been recovered from the deadly mutant. So far, a total of three deaths have been reported on St Kitts and Nevis amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began on the Caribbean island, it has recorded a total of 600 infections of the novel coronavirus.  Out of the confirmed COVID-19 cases, 580 infections were reported on St Kitts, while a total of 20 cases were reported on Nevis island. Out of all the COVID-19 tests conducted so far, 25,698 individuals tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Worldwide, as of 2 August 2021, there are a total of 198,234,951 infections of the COVID-19 virus have been confirmed, while in total, 180,001,143 individuals have been recovered from the deadly mutant. A total of 4,227,359 people have died because of the contagious COVID-19 virus across the globe. So far, a total of 19,768 that is 59.8 per cent of the SKN population, has received their second dose and are fully vaccinated now, whereas around 72.3 per cent of the total population has received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, as per the report by SKN Ministry of Health. In total, 43,640 jabs of the novel coronavirus have been administered on the sister islands, out of which around 33,549 COVID-19 doses were administered on St Kitts, and 10,090 doses were administered in Nevis till now. In addition, the Prime Minister of SKN - Timothy Harris, has urged the citizens to take their jab of the novel coronavirus vaccine as soon as possible so as to defeat the contagious pandemic.  The SKN government is also given COVID-19 hotline numbers – (869) 467-1146/1233 (St Kitts), (869) 469-5521, 2035/2051/(869) 469 -8010 (Nevis island).
