The Caribbean’s leading hotel chain, Sandals Resorts, is going to be closing all its hotels between March 30 and May 15 as a result of the Coronavirus disease which is disrupting life in every sector around the globe.
Sandals say its Beaches Resorts also will be closed during the period. As a result, the hotel chain won't be accepting any new bookings after March 23.
“Recent global travel warnings, coupled with airline carrier cancellations have compelled us to create the difficult decision to shut all Sandals and Beaches Resorts,” said Sandals Chairman, Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart during a letter to guests.
“Never we've got imagined the impact this global crisis would wear the world,” Stewart added. He described the days as “unprecedented” while stating that the protection and health of the hotel’s guests were of "paramount importance".
Stewart sought to assure that both Sandals and also the Caribbean are resilient and can recover more immediate than before once the crisis has passed. The tourism mogul said the hotel chain would use the downtime to create further enhancements to its properties.
