Saint Lucia to experience 113,000 more airline seats in 2024

The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority was thrilled to announce that by the end of this year, the island will experience an additional 113,000 airline seats compared to 2023. These will include 40,000 more seats available for the Summer of 2024 and an additional 3000 seats from the entire region as compared to 2023.

According to the information, these additional services will be provided by various airlines, including JetBlue, American Airlines, InterCaribbean, and Caribbean Airlines. The schedule of the additional flights will be as follows: - JetBlue, New York – double daily from June 13 - American Airlines, Miami – double daily from June 5 - Inter-Caribbean – Daily to Barbados and thrice weekly connections to Jamaica - Caribbean Airlines – Weekly to Jamaica via Trinidad

Meanwhile, a much-required new service will also start on Air Adelphi between Martinique, Saint Lucia and St Vincent. This service will be provided thrice a week, commencing on April 15 and will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The new service is set to provide travellers with convenient connectivity between these destinations.

The development was announced after Thaddeus M. Antoine, Chairman of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, led a delegation to the recently concluded Routes America Conference. The prestigious conference took place from March 19 to 21 in Bogota, Colombia and allowed the delegation to engage in several significant discussions.

Chairman Antoine said that during the conference, the delegation held meetings with executives from seven prospective airlines who showed their keen desire to introduce inaugural routes to Saint Lucia, with a few aiming for launches within this year.

(PC - Facebook)[/caption] In addition to these strategic discussions were held with executives from nine existing airlift providers to make sure the sustainability and maintenance of the present schedules and capacities.

The Chairman stated that the airlines welcomed the discussions related to future growth expectations based on the upcoming signature events in Saint Lucia. It was also due to the additional room stock and the development of the community tourism program, with some airlines even agreeing to increase capacity this year.
