Deglos, Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports has launched a TELL Project, a workshop to prevent violence, for the students at the Bexon Primary School on Monday (January 8).
The Teachers Effectiveness for Language Learning, TELL Project is designed to offer support and facilitate language teachers’ professional growth.
The TELL Project for Violence Prevention at the primary school was aimed to educate and empower the youth with the skills and knowledge to fight against violence efficiently. It was held in collaboration with the Police Relations Branch Officer.
The Project fosters a safe and well-supportive environment for the students to undertake their development in a secure and free environment.
Through this Project, the Ministry envisioned building communities and making every individual realise their potential and fight against or free themselves from any violence in their home, communities and schools.
During the workshops, the individuals are invited to engage, advocate and participate actively in efforts to eliminate violence.
Reportedly, this workshop will also help the children open up to the world, build confidence to fight and face any injustice and wrongful activities, and learn to stand up strongly to their ground.
The Ministry has consistently taken these practical steps to undertake every individual's societal development and deliver a healthy personal and professional growth environment.
Some other Sessions conducted for Youth
Earlier, the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports also hosted a career guidance seminar at the Regency La Toc. This session was based on creating a platform for young people to tackle all the social issues they face in their daily lives. The Programme focused on raising awareness of young individuals who are unemployed and looking to gain experience, especially in the hospitality sector.
The program aimed at developing skills among the individuals to excel themselves in the outer world. The Programme was facilitated by Youth Workers Kenier Barthelmy and Shem Hippolyte.
On marking the success of this crucial session, the Ministry was thankful to the Sandals Regency La Toc for their continued support in making this program a success.
