PM Timothy Harris urges to provide COVID-19 vaccine to children

Further, the Prime Minister urged parents to take steps towards the vaccination of the children so that they could be protected against the deadly virus – SARS-CoV-2.
Prime Minister Harris took social media and wrote, “We have made excellent progress on vaccinating adults. Let's ensure our children are protected too.”The PM also added the statics of the vaccination and COVID-19 cases, shared by the health ministry of St Kitts and Nevis.
According to the official data by the health ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, the total doses administrated to the citizenships of twin-island are 57,320. Of the total, 43,589 doses have been administrated to the people of St Kitts, and as many as 13,731 people from Nevis have taken vaccine against COVID-19.
The total number of residents who received that booster dose is up to 2,975.
A total of 26,241 people have been fully vaccinated (these numbers include children as well). Of these, 1st dose has been administrated to 82.4 percent, and 77.0 percent have taken 2nd dose.
Among children (aged 12 years to 17 years), 18.3 percent of children have been administrated with 1st dose and 2nd dose have been received by 16.5 percent children.
As per the official site, on February 16, Wednesday, St Kitts and Nevis have reported three COVID-19 cases, and around six people have been recovered from the virus. After this addition in the cases, the total number of confirmed cases in the country is 5,511 and recoveries are at 5,406.
The island country has around 65 active cases, 59 from Saint Kitts and six from Nevis.
In accordance with the health ministry, St Kitts has reported 33 deaths, and Nevis has seven deaths, bringing the total death toll to 40.Prime Minister Timothy Harris has appealed to the residents of the twin island to follow COVID-19 rules to minimize the spread of the infection.
