PM Skerrit meets Australian HC Sonya Koppe, discusses matters of mutual interest
Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit engaged in a fruitful discussion with Sonya Koppe, the High Commissioner of Australia to the Commonwealth of Dominica. HC Koppe had earlier presented her credentials to President Sylvanie Burton. While sharing the development on his official Facebook account, PM, Skerrit said, "I was happy to welcome Her Excellency to Dominica and engage in discussion on matters of mutual interest to our countries."

The meeting featured a discussion on matters of mutual interest to both countries. HC Koppe also highlighted key moments and connections forged between Dominica and Australia and expressed her best wishes for the years to come.

She also expressed her desire of working on various matter of common interest and assured PM Skerrit of Australia's complete support to the country.

As PM Skerrit shared glimpses of his meeting with the Australian High Commissioner, the citizens and residents of Dominica lauded him for maintaining international relations.

"P.M. Skerrit, God blesses Dominica through your patriotic initiatives....history will witness and absolve you," wrote a user named Jeno Jacob, while another user named Nadia Karam said, "Leadership on display. Good representations always are seen by the naked eye. Thanks, PM."

By engaging in such meetings, the Prime Minister of Dominica showcases his commitment and dedication to forging international connections with various countries.

Australia and Dominica established their diplomatic ties in 1981 and both are members of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), the Commonwealth, World Trade Organisation (WTO) and United Nations (UN).

The Prime Minister's dedication towards maintaining global relations was also seen last month when he visited China for one week to commemorate Dominica's 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China.

During the official trip, he and his delegation engaged in various significant discussions with President Xi Jinping and other leaders which are for the benefit of the country and its people.
