Nigeria’s Yemi Alade searching for ‘Johnny’ at Dominica festival
Afropop star will perform at the World Creole Music Festival

Nigerian Afropop star Yemi Alade will be looking for her Johnny when she performs on the opening night of Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival in October.
Alade, who became widely known after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009, is bringing her catalogue of smash hits to Windsor Park Sports Stadium.
The Nigerian musician made her debut in an all-girl group called Noty Spices in 2005, but following her competition win she released her first single Fimisile under the Jus’ Kiddin’ label.
In 2012, she signed onto the music label, Effyzzie Music Group, and released her single Ghen Ghen Love.
The Nigerian hit-maker is an authentic and world-class superstar who has combined her use of Afropop beat with the various rhythms of her native Nigeria to produce a string of hit songs since she broke onto the music scene.

The award-winning singer and songwriter is best known for her hit single Johnny.
The track’s music video has garnered over 75 million views since it was released on YouTube in 2014.
Alade has also performed around the world, sharing the stage and songs with such music luminaries as Mary J Blige, WizKid, Waje, Becca and Yemi Sax.
The 20th edition of Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival takes place between 27-29 October.
The 2017 line-up also includes Machel Montano, Kalash, Mavado, Yemi Alade, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons, Sweet Micky, Kai, Etana, Romain Virgo, Klass, Marcé & Tumpak, Asa Bantan, Triple Kay International, Mizik à Nou All Stars, Breve, Swingin’ Stars, and the Zouk All Stars featuring Jean Marc Ferdinand, Orlane, Francky Vincent, and Stéphane Ravor.
