While reiterating his commitment, Minister Duggins said as the Minister of Sports, he is committed to sporting excellence and the recent upgrades underline his ministry's dedication. "Athletes, get ready to shine, and spectators, get ready for an enhanced experience," he added. In addition to this, the Minister also expressed his sincere thanks to the Deputy Prime Minister, Geoffrey Hanley, who also serves as East Basseterre's constituency representative, for his instrumental support in the success of this project. Notably, in July 2023, the Minister visited several sporting facilities in need of immediate upgrades on the island and vowed that the works would be completed in the upcoming year. While fulfilling his promise, the Minister has worked continuously to get the work completed on several facilities, including the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium, which is the most extensive upgrade project. Several citizens and residents lauded the Minister for keeping up with his promises. They took to social media to appreciate him.Monika Walker is a senior journalist specializing in regional and international politics, offering in-depth analysis on governance, diplomacy, and key global developments.
