Newly elected President of CDB Dr Hyginus Leon meets PM Browne
Recently elected President of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) Dr Hyginus “Gene” Leon, and Vice-President (Operations), (VPO) Isaac Solomon paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

Both CDB Executives expressed their desire to work with Antigua and Barbuda and governments of the region in stabilizing their economies coming out of the pandemic.
Dr Hyginus ‘Gene’ Leon on May 1st 2021 took office as President of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), enriching the sixth chief executive of the regional multilateral establishment.
The experienced economist will head a team of more than 200 employees headquartered in Bridgetown, Barbados. He proceeds to the assignment with 35 years of expertise in economics, financial policy development and executive management, more than 20 of which were spent operating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He replaces Dr. Warren Smith, who retired on April 30 after serving as President for 10 years.
