Melissa Skerrit distributes hurricane preparedness kits to high risks people
In a hard time of Hurricane Elsa, Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central constituency and wife of the Prime Minister of Dominica Melissa Poponne-Skerrit distributed Hurricane Preparedness Kits to those who live in high-risk areas.

A Holy Bible, Flashlight, Non-perishable food items, Candles, Towel, Washcloth, Soap, Toiletries, Matches, First aid kits, Radios, Slippers, Whistle.
She also appealed to people, " Let us all be vigilant during this hurricane season."
"The hurricane season is upon us. Unfortunately, we are now under a Tropical Storm warning as a result of Category One Hurricane Elsa’s ominous presence. " Melissa Skerrit added.

Moreover, she also urged people to take all kinds of cautions suggested by the government, including staying in their homes and shutting down all businesses for some time.
Additionally, the Prime Minister of Dominica also, through a video message, urged the people to follow all kinds of necessary cautions and updated all status of this Hurricane to the people.
Some more details of this Hurricane :Hurricane Elsa is now barrelling via the Caribbean toward the Greater Antilles, then potentially toward Florida. Inhabitants of the Caribbean and Florida should track the progress of Elsa nearly through the holiday weekend.
Elsa brought hurricane-force gusts to Barbados and St. Lucia Friday morning. A sustained wind of 74 mph & gust of 86 mph was measured on Barbados early Friday. A wind gust of 79 mph was reported in Saint Lucia.

A hurricane warning has been announced for Jamaica, meaning hurricane situations are expected by Sunday for the island. A hurricane warning implies hurricane conditions are possible also are typically issued 36 hours before tropical-storm-force winds are expected to begin.
Dominica also has been under the high alerts, and all measures have been taken by the government.
A hurricane watch has been issued for parts of eastern and southern Cuba.
A tropical storm warning has also been issued for the southern coast of the Dominican Republic and portions of Haiti, where tropical storm conditions are expected Saturday.
A tropical storm watch has been announced for parts of the Cayman Islands.
