Major renovations underway for Kim Collins Athletic Stadium: Samal Duggins
The stadium has been awaiting rehabilitation for a decade, and the Labour Government has finally announced that their ambitious plan is in motion.

Minister Duggins said that last year, he visited island's sporting facilities, and discovered that Kim Collins Athletic Stadium required a complete overhaul.
"A decade without upgrades, but as the Minister of Sports, I'm thrilled to announce our ambitious plan is in motion! This Stadium is on the brink of a remarkable transformation! We've initiated bathroom renovations, seat replacements, and tiling work," Samal Duggins.
The Minister said that the renovation of the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium is the commitment of the Labour Party to provide top-notch facilities for the athletes and the community.

"Stay tuned for regular updates as we breathe new life into the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium," he added.
This work is part of the Ministry of Sports' ongoing efforts to revitalize the sporting facilities.Samal Duggins highlighted that this premier athletic stadium is in dire need of a complete overhaul, and his Ministry is committed to transforming it into a world-class venue that will attract regional and international sporting competitions.
While reiterating his commitment towards boosting the sports facilities, the Minister outlined, "No longer will this stadium be neglected. Our commitment to ensuring top-tier sporting facilities means this stadium will shine once again!"Earlier in March 2023, the Ministry of Sport participated in a walkthrough of the Kim Collins Stadium, with an official from Mondo, which is a world leader in track and field, surfacing. This was to assess the track with hopes of doing considerable renovations to it.
Michael Tovar, Director of Mondo Track Division, was joined by Samal Duggins, the Minister with responsibility for Sport.
During that visit, Samal Duggins outlined that his Ministry continues to prioritize nation-building through sports and revealed that the walkthrough is part of plans to improve the aesthetics of the facility."We reached out to Mondo to ensure that our athletes to have the best possible training area. Our athletes need access to a top class facility to complement their natural talents to get to that next level. To have the on-ground assessment is a significant step in the addressing of the track's deterioration," Minister Duggins shared.Author Profile
