The leader of opposition in Dominica and UWP leader Lennox Linton under fire after he was exposed in a sensational leak of messages in which it was discovered that Linton is engaging in corruption and conspiracy to sell off Dominica’s assets.
The thread of messages released by a European news website CCE News disclosed how Linton is trying to compromises national assets of country and lands in a deal to dispose of Government land to a developer named Terry Baron.
Following a strong attack from all the corners of the nation, Linton refused to have any connection with Terry Baron and claimed on air that "I do not know Terry Baron, I do not know Chris HP, I know nothing of the characters who have been named to be associated with me in some sort of scheme to buy Dominica land. I have never communicated with these individuals whoever they are, whether they are real or fake.”
But bringing more embarrassment for Linton, picture of him with Terry Baron surfaced on the internet proving his claims a blatant lie. The question came up front that if Linton did not know Terry Baron, why he was at the UWP candidate launch event and photographed with UWP leader including Lennox Linton in a very friendly gesture unusually.
On Thursday 3 October, on air for Q95 FM, Lennox Linton spoke out regarding the allegations surrounding his connection to Terry Baron and Chris HP, after European CCE News published a photograph showing Linton and Baron together at his candidate launch event on 19 May.
Lennox Linton admitted that the photograph was indeed real but denied any connection with Terry Baron. Linton went on to say that Baron attended the function on 19 May and merely posed for a picture with Linton, as one would in the presence of a well-known figure.
Lennox Linton did not, however, comment on the photographs that emerged of his colleagues with Baron, or on his alleged connection with Chris HP – something that the people of Dominica are anxious to learn more about.
A local resident who do not wanted to be named said that the castle made of lies always fall upon the people who build it, Lennox must tell the truth to the people of Dominica.
In the thread of messages released by CCE News, Linton was seen allegedly compromising the assets of Dominica. The messages clearly expose that Linton makes a promise that land worth of $10 million will be sold for $2 million if he comes to power in the upcoming elections.
CCE claims that their reliable sources confirmed that Linton received $1m from Terry Baron for the political campaign of Dominica’s general elections. Doubt was expressed by news organisations that the other party members of UWP are also unaware of $1m amount received by Linton for election campaign by Terry Baron – UWP’s Primary Campaign Funder.
CCE News have so far failed to provide any further evidence of Lennox Linton’s meeting with Terry Baron for the alleged $1 million transaction.
