She said Jesus' resurrection is a testament that darkness & difficulty are temporary with God's grace.
"We celebrate the most beautiful words as spoken by the angel to the women who went to Jesus' tomb on the third day, which exemplify God's love and magnificent power above all," said Kamla Persad.
Referring to Easter, Kamla Persad stated,"It is a day as it gets at any time of the year, we join our Christian sisters and brothers in celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
She stated that for her the Jesus' resurrection is a testament that darkness and difficulty are only temporary with God's grace.
"Only two days ago, we observed the crucifixion of Jesus. Two days later, on Easter Sunday, we observe the magnificent power of God to turn sorrow into light with the resurrection. The triumph of the resurrection is reflected in Psalm 30:5," she said.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning,On Easter, we celebrate God's message to us, that through his goodness and through his grace we shall always be granted restoration, renewal and resurrection.
She said she cannot highlight enough how much suffering, hardship and burdens people of Trinidad and Tobago face."Today our citizens face self-doubt and trauma, and so many suffer from feeling neglected. I ask our citizens facing the toughest of times to put their faith in God and know that he will deliver us all with his unwavering love,"
As Good Friday taught everyone about God's love for us, Easter Sunday confirms to people that God will always renew and rebuild those who seek him for his love is never-ending.
She said Jesus' sacrifice is a perfect example to humanity of how everyone should relate to one another: with compassion, generosity and selflessness.
