Jamaican brutally shot dead in Trinidad and Tobago

Police in Trinidad are still looking for a lone gunman who killed a Jamaican man in Port-of-Spain on Monday night.  The victim was identified as Garth Perkins, 34 who worked as an event manager.

He was also a student at St Jago High School in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and the University of the West Indies.

Perkins worked as an events manager at Estate 101, a private social club in the heart of Trinidad and Tobago's social scene. Police officials said that he was shot at around 7:30 pm on Monday.

The Jamaican tried to run away from the hoodlum, but he shot him a few times. Later, he fell to the ground on the road next to his car, where he later died. The gunmen then ran away from the scene, the report says.

The news of Perkins' death has filled social media with a lot of tributes. Many people remember him as a humble and well-liked person.

Estate 101, the company where he worked, said on Facebook that "Mr Perkins was loved and respected by his colleagues and our clients and will be missed dearly. He will be missed."

Added," May his soul rest and may his family and friends find comfort during this difficult time, We miss Garth,"

Donna-lee Allen, a friend of the person who died, wrote on Facebook that it was hard to find words because she couldn't believe Perkins was gone.

'Garth Perkins': In conversations, we talked about how much we both loved going on trips. You were like a brother to me. When I think about you, I see you with that broken leg. I know you're in heaven. Busha died, she wrote.
