Improvement projects on the Rodnet Bay Highway employs 100 people: PM Chastanet

The government of St Lucia, under the administration of Prime Minister Allen Chastanet, have listed down the improvement projects on the Rodnet Bay Highway. Prime Minister Allen Chastanet stated on his Facebook page stated that the new improvements would be addressing traffic congestion by constructing two additional motoring lanes from Reduit to Bonne Terre with the construction of two roundabouts. He stated that motorist and pedestrian safety would also be enhanced by constructing sidewalks and a walkover on the highway to ensure an easy commute.

As the area often experiences heavy rainfall, an advanced drainage system is being constructed in the area, which is expected to reduce the damages during flooding or downpours.

PM Chastanet stated on his Facebook page that the improvement projects at the Rodnet Bay Highway would also be developing the consistency and reliability of the water supply in the north by replacing the WASCO Main Pipes, which are over three decades years old. Prime Minister stated that the improvement project has also increased local employment, and more than 100 persons are currently employed. "Spider promised to make roads a priority this term, and he is delivering on his promise. This long-overdue project currently employs approximately 100 persons," stated Prime Minister Allen Chastanet.
