Houses burnt in the Trinidad and Tobago of couple
For November 4, Penal taxi driver Ramsaran Dhanraj, 50, has been living under a sheet of galvanizing in the burnt-out shell of whichever was formerly house.

His wife Indra Ramkissoon, 55, is living with families,The pair, who have lived at the house at Sou Sou Lands, Penal Rock Road, for the ultimate ten years, said they have been to multiple businesses querying help to restore their home but have rolled on.
Staff at a supermarket in Penal, they said, proposed them $20, saying that was all they had to forbear.
"We are seeking to stay positive and keep calm," stated Ramakishanan, it breaks my heart each day knowing that we are now displaced just like that, and now we must rise from scratch. We have nothing except for the garments we hold on, nothing.
"We are not freeloaders. My partner has been working hard all his life. We purchased this area and built a life here. We purchased all the appliances cash that was burned in the fire. We had everything we required right here, But soon it is all gone."
The pair were not at home when the fire rose in the wooden and solid house at 6 pm that day. Dhanraj was getting a hair trim at the nearby barber, and his wife was visiting relations in Penal.
Dhanraj's taxi was parked at the head of the house, and he lost that too. he stated in a painful manner that his house on fire and he left quickly. he stated that he was helpless, his house was gone, with painful tears in the eyes he stated that with the car his bread and butter also burned.So he is not only homeless but jobless.
"You hear people talking about how hard things are after their house was destroyed by fire, but is only when it happens to you then you begin to understand how they are feeling. I feel so empty right now.
"We don't have a choice...we are begging, please, is there anyone out there that can help my wife and I rebuild a house? Please help us please."
