Grenadian PM Mitchell meets UAE delegation on sidelines of SIDS4, secured major funding
The meeting concluded with agreement on the signing of a Technical Agreement Cooperation between the two countries.

Grenada: Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell engaged in a successful bilateral meeting with UAE Foreign Minister’s Envoy to the Caribbean, Omar Shehadeh. The meeting took place on the margins of the ongoing SIDS4 conference, and it resulted in a strong pledge by the UAE to support Grenada in many critical areas.
According to the information, these areas included energy transition, renewable energy, the proposed state-of-the-art teaching hospital as well as other significant development initiatives. The meeting concluded with agreement on the signing of a Technical Agreement Cooperation between the two countries.
PM Mitchell stated that the major outcomes of the meeting included the UAE Foreign Minister’s Envoy vowing substantial assistance to enhance renewable energy infrastructure in Grenada.
He noted that this support will be instrumental in helping Grenada achieve its energy transition goals while focusing on sustainable and resilient energy solutions.
The UAE has also committed to providing major technical support for the development of a new teaching hospital in Grenada. The Prime Minister said that this project strives to improve healthcare services and medical education within the Caribbean region.
In addition to this, the UAE has agreed to assist with several other projects in line with the national priorities articulated by Prime Minister Mitchell. These initiatives will address major areas identified by the PM as important for the socio-economic development of Grenada.
PM Mitchell expressed his utmost gratitude to UAE for this assistance and remarked that the country is deeply appreciative of the UAE’s dedication to supporting Grenada’s sustained development effort. He also said that this partnership marks a huge milestone in the efforts to build a sustainable and prosperous future for the country.
Meanwhile, Omar Shehadeh noted that the UAE is honored to collaborate with Grenada in these important areas, and he said that he believes that the joint efforts will yield major benefits for the Grenadian people while promoting sustainable development and enhancing the overall quality of life.
