Stating that many people are guided by misinformation, Dr Keith Michele said that there is a high level of hesitancy among people for the vaccine. He said that it is crucial for us as leaders to continue to provide advice to the people to protect themselves, which is “our responsibility.”
There still remains resistance among people to get vaccinated, and the government of Grenada has already said that it is a personal decision of individuals whether they want to get vaccinated against Covid 19. PM said at the same time, it is not just about individuals, but you also have to consider the persons you are interacting with. On Tuesday, Dr Michelle continued his series of engagements with the local population employed in a debushing programme by commending those who are vaccinated and encouraging others who are not vaccinated against COVID-19.He emphasised that vaccination provides the best option for the people of Grenada to return to normalcy with normal life as possible in the post-pandemic era.
“Our job is to meet with them and give them as much advice as possible, not to demand that they get vaccinated because it is a personal decision,” said PM Keith Mitchell. He added that a number of people in the society are not prepared yet to provide advice to the people on what is the best in regard to the COVID-19 in the country.
“I have made the call constantly, that each of us, and our respective areas of responsibility, whether it is sports, business, entertainment, politics or any other area, if we are serious and we genuinely care for people, we have no choice but to give them the best advice possible,” said Prime Minister.Latest
