Funeral service for Leanna Napoleon in Basseterre this afternoon
17-year-old was missing for over a month before body was found
The funeral of murdered teenager Leanna Napoleon will take place in Basseterre this afternoon.
The service is due to take place from 3pm the Zion Moravian Church in Victoria Road.
Leanna, 17, went missing on 8 May, leading to extensive searches by police and members of the public, as well as appeals from the government and opposition party.
Her body was discovered in a shallow grave on 14 June.
Three people – including her older brother – have been charged with her murder.
An emotional candlelight vigil to celebrate her life was held last week in the grounds of Basseterre High School, where she attended before her disappearance.
Prime Minister Timothy Harris tweeted that he hoped people "do attend and pay respects".
