St Lucian politician Ernest Hilaire shared a Facebook post in which he discussed the World-Travel Awards ceremony and other various significant meetings. He stated that he went through an "Emotional Rollercoaster".
He stated:
This week generated many emotions, some I can boast of and others to keep silent on for now. Most persons who follow me would know that Monday was my birthday. The staff at the Ministry treated me with decorations, songs and goodies. I was astonished. The creativity was exceptional. Thank you to everyone who made this occasion special. As usual, we had a Cabinet meeting.
Tuesday was a big day for him as we had a consultation with the Carnival Bands Association, Kaiso and steel pan representatives to discuss the possibility of hosting a carnival next year. The stakeholders are ready! So the time for final decisions to be made is fast approaching. Tuesday was particular as we presented tokens to the service providers who won awards from the World-Travel Awards, declared in Dubai in October.
Wednesday, as usual, was constituency day and what a day it was. Over 65 persons were seen, and as usual, it provided an opportunity to ground with my constituents.
Thursday and Friday were meeting days starting with a courtesy call from the OAS Representative in Saint Lucia. It was quite educational to learn of the numerous ways in which we can benefit from the work of the OAS. My list of persons and organisations requesting meetings is unbelievably long and may well take a couple of weeks before I can catch up.
Earlier today, I was pleased to join other officials to welcome the Rotterdam from the Holland America Cruise Line. Many would not know that Holland America Cruise has been visiting Saint Lucia since the 1960s, and this is the 7th ship named Rotterdam. Next Tuesday is Parliament, and it promises to be exciting as we account for our first 100 days in office. Please tune in.
Ernest Hilaire is a St Lucian politician who is Deputy Prime Minister and Tourism Minister, Investment, Culture, Creative Industries, and Information. He also serves as the First Deputy Political Leader of the Saint Lucia Labour Party.
