Dominica: Police confirm weekend shooting
One man in custody
A man was shot and injured in St Joseph, Dominica, on Saturday morning.
WIC News understands the man, who is recovering in the Princess Margaret hospital, is originally from Haiti.He suffered wounds to his thigh and ribs, according to police sources. He has been named by local media as Mederick Desiree.
One man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force confirmed that they had recovered a firearm they believe was used in the shooting, and they thanked people in St Joseph for their assistance in investigations.
