Dominica: PM Skerrit expresses sadness on demise of media personality Ferdina Frampton

Frampton passed away on January 17 at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital. The cause of her death is yet unknown, and the country is awaiting an answer from the hospital staff.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit has expressed his sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Ferdina Frampton, who was a luminary in the media industry.

Frampton passed away on January 17 at the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital. The cause of her death is yet unknown, and the country is awaiting an answer from the hospital staff.

This famous media personality was the host of 'In the Spotlight Show' on Q95 and also served as the marketing director of FLOW Dominica. The news of her death has caused sadness across the island, impacting every citizen.

The members of the government have also expressed their deep sadness over this incident. In a Facebook post yesterday, PM Skerrit wrote, "Frampton's exceptional contributions to the broadcasting and telecommunications in Dominica are exceptional."

"As the amazing host of the 'In the Spotlight Radio Show' and a major figure at Flow Dominica, Ferdina's passion for media as well as community engagement touched many lives," he added.

The post also mentioned that the female had a vibrant personality, professionalism and commitment, which set a benchmark for media practitioners in the country.

While expressing his sadness, PM Skerrit added that her loss is a profound one for the island as a whole, and she leaves behind an enduring legacy.

He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the friends, family, colleagues and all who were inspired by her unparalleled career.

"Her memory and impact will forever resonate in Dominica's media landscape and in our hearts," outlined Roosevelt Skerrit.
Housing Minister Melissa Skerrit also took to Facebook to express her deep condolences. Melissa mentioned Ferdina Frampton as 'A Beautiful Soul'.

"May she rest in peace, may the Lord comfort those she has left behind, and may she live long in the memories of those who loved her dearly," said the Minister.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Denise Charles said that she is being personally affected by this loss and said that she has known Ferdine since her teenage years.

Charles mentioned that Ferdina, along with her sister Gail, was involved in numerous groups, a passion which was likely inspired by her father, who chaired the Pointe Michel Village Council.

The Minister added that her memories of those days are vivid and fond and are marked by a close-knit community where every child was welcome in any home.

"Ferdina's passing leaves a profound void reminiscent of the one left by her father. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her and were touched by her remarkable spirit," outlined Denise Charles.

The management of Flow also expressed deep sadness at the passing of Ferdinand. It said, "Ferdina was more than just a colleague; she was an integral part of our company's fabric."

While appreciating her, Flow said that she brought vibrancy, dedication, as well as an unparalleled spirit to our workplace and her unique ability to connect with everyone she encountered made her a beloved figure across the community

They said that they mourn the loss of their dear friend and colleague and remember her with the warmth and joy she brought to our lives.
