The Dominica Labour Party is all set to launch Gregory ‘Karessah’ Riviere as its Member Parliament candidate for Marigot constituency on Sunday, for upcoming general elections in the country. During the launching of DLP candidate for the Roseau North constituency, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit expressed his confidence in DLP’s Marigot candidate to defeat the leader of opposition.

“What Marigot needs more than ever is a Parl Rep who will properly lead them and will properly represent their interests, ladies and gentlemen; and that is what Marigot shall get in its next election,” PM asserted.

The launching of Gregory will be held at the Marigot fisheries complex on July 28 and the event is expected to be a grand as DLP consider this seat as most important because opposition party leader Lennox Linton has already announced his candidacy from Marigot constituency.

During his speech on July 21, PM Dr Roosevelt Skerrit said “Before I close, I want to announce that next Sunday is for me, a very special day in this unfolding campaign. It's the day we go to the constituency of Marigot to launch a very formidable candidate in the person of Gregory Riviere. This is an event I am looking forward to very much and I believe I have the candidate to defeat Lennox Linton. I believe Labour has it's very best chance to date of taking the Marigot seat in upcoming elections.”

“Gregory Riviere will be flying the flag for Labour in the Marigot constituency and I want Labourites to join me by the Fisheries Complex next Sunday, July 28th, for that special launch of this emerging tiger from the east,” said Prime Minister.

Whether DLP leader and Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit is expressing his confidence on Gregory to triumph the citadel of UWP, but it will not be a piece of cake for DLP to clinch out the victory in Marigot constituency. If Gregory proves Prime Minister right, then it will be a game-changer for UWP political structure.
