St Kitts and Nevis has signed a joint communique with the Republic of Moldova, formally establishing diplomatic relations.

The signing ceremony, which took place on 8 September at the embassy of Moldova in London, marks the second time in as many months that St Kitts and Nevis have established diplomatic relations outside of the region.

Last month a bond was made with the Middle East state of Qatar.

Vilen Murzac, the chargé d’affaires at the embassy of Moldova, expressed a willingness to explore ways to deepen the countries cooperation in the future.

St Kitts and Nevis high commissioner Kevin Isaac and Murzac both extended invitations to their home countries.
