Diddy's whereabouts unknown as family arrives in Antigua and Barbuda

Government officials in Antigua and Barbuda have said that members of troubled rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs' family arrived in the Caribbean nation last week on his private jet, as he continues to remain in the spotlight.

Ambassador Lionel Hurst, Chief of Staff at the Prime Minister's Office, spoke of the matter at a recent post cabinet media briefing, which clarified that rumors of Diddy's arrival are in fact false.

Sean "Diddy" Combs' is the subject of multiple lawsuits accusing him of physical abuse, sexual assault and sex trafficking, which led to Homeland Security Investigations agents raiding his homes in Miami and Los Angeles recently.

According to reports coming out of United States media outlets, the raids were conducted on the basis of an ongoing investigation into Diddy's alleged involvement in human trafficking.

Even though rumours about him escaping to Antigua and Barbuda have been making the rounds ever since his private jet landed in the nation, it was later revealed that he was photographed in Miami at that time, meaning he couldn't possibly be in the Caribbean.

Officials in Antigua and Barbuda refrained from mentioning which members of his family have made it to Antigua to ensure that the nation is not embarrassed by some sort of a spectacle and also to preserve the privacy of the Combs family.

Officials recognize that this is a sensitive matter for the family but are also cognizant of the fact that Antigua and Barbuda's reputation might be at risk.

Hurst gave the following statement on the matter, "I'm not so sure that when these people landed in Antigua that they wanted to become a public spectacle. I think privacy is one of the things they seek to have and it's not in the best interest of Antigua and Barbuda to speak about folks who choose to come here for privacy and then we are blasting it all over the media." According to him, Diddy and his family are free to visit Antigua and Barbuda at their discretion as the authorities do not see any reason to ban their entry into or exit from the nation at this juncture in time.

Hurst believes that the onus to make a decision regarding Diddy's innocence is entirely on the United States, adding that, "We take the attitude that until you are proven guilty of something, you are innocent."

It has also been reported that Diddy's Gulfstream G550 returned to the United States but it is not known whether his family was onboard or not.

The government of Antigua and Barbuda also extended its help to United States authorities and said that they are willing to provide any information that they seek with respect to this particular case.
