Cuban researchers working to make COVID-19 vaccine

Cuba is researching towards making COVID-19 vaccine of there own as Russia also plans to have its vaccinations produced in the Caribbean nation.
Epidemiology head at Cuba's public health ministry Francisco Duran stated that "Cuba is working on creating a coronavirus vaccine".
"Finding an efficient coronavirus vaccine is the top priority of our science and research teams to control COVID-19," added Francisco Duran in his address.
Besides this, the President of BiocubaFarma tweeted, "a look at the nation's Finlay Institute reveals how much progress can be made in this very short period."
Not many know that Cuba is not a stranger to vaccinations, it produces 80% of the vaccines used in National Immunization Program.
Cuba, known for its health sector and assistance to other countries during the peak wave of novel coronavirus has problems of its own when it comes to controlling the contamination of the viral disease on its shores.
However, so far the country had controlled the virus efficiently but the rising numbers of infections are raising concerns on overwhelming of Cuban health sector.
Last week, a new lockdown was imposed on Havana where restaurants and bars were closed once again to stop the socialization of people in public places.
