Cricket West Indies have confirmed that Trinidad and Tobago left-handed batsman Yannic Cariah was reprimanded for a breach of the code of conduct during the third round of matches which ended on Sunday in the Digicel 4-Day Championship.

Cariah was reported by on-field umpires Danesh Ramdhanie and Gregory Brathwaite, along with reserve umpire Kellman Kowlessar, for a level one breach of the code of conduct during the match between Red Force and Windward Islands Volcanoes at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Match referee Michael Ragoonath reprimanded Cariah, after he breached paragraph 1.3 of the code of conduct by using language that was obscene, offensive or insulting, when he yelled an expletive after being dismissed caught in the 44th over of the Red Force first innings.

The player admitted to the offence and accepted the imposition of the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.
