Antigua and Barbuda: The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority revealed the nominees for the highly anticipated Best Pepperpot and Fungee Competition during the Restaurant Week. 

As food enthusiasts eagerly awaited the announcement of the best spot for the national dish, residents were invited to nominate their favourite food spots. 

The following nominees have been unveiled for the Antigua and Barbuda Best Pepperpot and Fungee Competition:

– Sips and Tips (North Walk Commercial Complex, Weatherills Main Road) 

– LaToya’s Local Cuisine (Old Parham Rd, west of CIBC First Caribbean Bank) 

– Bishop’s Kitchen (Barnes Hill) 

– Smiling Harry’s (Half Moon Bay) 

– Joe Mike’s (Corner of Corn Alley and Nevis Street) 

– Boundary Bites (Sir Vivian Richards Stadium) 

– Catering4U (Buckleys School Playing Field) 

All these participating restaurants will serve the national dish throughout the restaurant week following which one eatery will be chosen as the winner of this exciting inaugural competition. 

The lead of Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week, Shermain Jeremy said that these nominees showcase the authentic flavours of the island nation through their mastery of Pepperpot and Fungee. 

According to the information, a panel of international and national chefs and cultural food personalities will judge the final competition in May. The winning spot will be featured in the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority’s marketing efforts which will promote the rich local fare. 

The organisers of the Restaurant Week asked the citizens and residents to explore more local food spots other than the ones unveiled for the competition with the ABRW ‘Eat Like a Local’ digital map.

It is to be noted that the second annual Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week concludes on Sunday, May 19, with 65 restaurants offering diverse cuisines and special dining experience to the citizens and visitors alike.
