Even though the Antiguan police have denied any abduction in Jolly Harbour, Mehul Choksi's lawyers in Antigua and Dominica continue to maintain that he was kidnapped through a joint operation carried out by Antiguan and Indian agencies.

The lawyers even said that Mehul Choksi and Babara Jarabica had been in association for more than a year, and they frequently visited each other in and around Antigua and Barbuda. However, the lawyers could not reveal the relationship Choksi shares with Babara Jarabica, whether it was business, friendship or any other investment-related association.

While the lawyers maintain that Mehul Choksi did not leave Antigua willingly and was abducted by Antigua and Indian authorities, the story has no absolute shreds of evidence to prove the claims. The bruises and red eyes seen in recent photos of Choksi could result from anything say experts and termed that only injury marks cannot decide the real motive of the case. However, the lawyers also lack hard proofs to back their abduction story as there have been no CCTV footage, no eye-witness or any other materialistic evidence to prove the abduction story in the court.
Antigua and Barbuda police chief Atlee Rodney have already dismissed that elusive diamantaire Mehul Choksi was abducted by forces. Dominican police have said that they are still investigating the matter and urged people not to believe in any stories floating on media or the internet.
