Saint Lucia Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, says the 24-7 curfew is in full effect.

HTS News Force reports that day one of the nation-wide shut down turned into punctuated by abandoned streets, police officers at the beat and long queues at detailed petrol stations for vital services.

Prime Minister Chastanet stresses that he was left and not using a choice, but to have the bulk of Saint Lucians shelter-in-area for the following seven days, to store them from the ravages of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

Chastanet said he would keep discussions with various stakeholders to get their input before individual decisions are made.
