Russia bans Chinese citizens over virus concerns: agencies
Russia on Tuesday said it would prohibit every single Chinese resident from entering its domain from February 20, in an extreme measure against the spread of the new coronavirus, neighbourhood news organisations said.
"The passage of every single Chinese resident through Russia's state wildernesses will be suspended from February 20 for work travel, private travel, study and the travel industry," said Deputy Prime Minister accountable for wellbeing, Tatiana Golikova, as indicated by organisations.
She said the choice was taken "due to the declining of the pestilence in China and the way that Chinese nationals are proceeding to land on A Russian area."
A few Chinese nationals visit Russia as vacationers or live there for work or study and many travels through Russian air terminals in transit toward the West.
Russia has taken radical measures to stop the spread of the COVID-19 episode which has guaranteed almost 1,900 lives in China and around the globe. It has just shut its 4,250-km (2,650-mile) fringe with China.
