New Update on La Soufriere Volcano: Another eruption happened at 10:48pm

St Vincent and the Grenadines continue to face the outburst of La Soufriere volcano. As per the NEMO, pyroclastic flows heading down the eastern side of La Soufriere were witnessed.

NEMO reported that another explosive event also took place at 10.48 pm. As per NEMO, the situation is still dangerous, and people must exercise extreme caution to protect themselves from the ashfall and pyroclastic flows.

As St Vincent and the Grenadines experienced an unprecedented crisis, many countries and organizations have come forward to assist the government in need of the hour.

On Tuesday evening, Galleons Passage arrived in St. Vincent with emergency supplies from Trinidad and Tobago. Fifty members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force left on board the vessel this morning to offer physical support following the La Soufrière volcano's eruption.

Besides this, St Kitts and Nevis have pledged the support of $1 million; besides, it will also accommodate families containing two or three members. As per the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, the aim is to accommodate 300 evacuees from St Vincent.

Dominica has also announced to provide free accommodation and internet services to evacuees arriving from St Vincent.

Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) has partnered with the Civil Defence Commission (CDC) to deliver aid of $13.3m of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The group will be delivering a total of 10,000 cases of its bottled 20oz Diamond Mineral Water, as well as 500 cases of 1.14 litres alcohol-based Environ Sanitising Cleaner, a statement from the company stated.

Venezuela has also sent out 17,000 litres of water, non-perishable food, mattresses and personal hygiene kits to St Vincent.

USAID has also promised to deliver the US $ 100,000 worth of aid to the volcano ridden country. It stated that they are compiling resources to deliver assistance to St Vincent and the Grenadines.
