Two ports in the United States are helping to vaccinate crew members of the cruise ships to get the cruise industry back on track faster. On Friday, Port Canaveral became the first U.S. port to offer crew members a Covid-19 vaccine.
Port Canaveral's assistance to give the vaccine to cruise ship crew members comes a day after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an expansion to vaccine ability in Florida to cover people who are in the state for the purpose of providing ideal or services for the interest of inhabitants and visitants of Florida.
Port Canaveral CEO John Murray issued a statement celebrating the launch of this new program, devising the vaccination of the cruise ship. the crew who can begin the process for a safe return to the voyages. '
"This extensive suitability is very important to our tourism business, and we are proud of our efforts to get this industry going."
However, it is not clear which ship members received the doses first.
Up to 1,000 COVID-19 vaccination shots per day can be provided to crew members, shore and waterfront personnel, in line with the recommendations released by the Federal Centers for Disease Control this week to return to the US. Port Canaveral officials consulted the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Cross-Line Operators, as well as the CDC to develop its vaccination model to get vaccines given out efficiently and quickly to crew members and outsiders. The Port of Galveston also plans to offer the vaccine crew members next week when visiting the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista.The board of trustees of the Port of Galveston announced the new plan during a meeting on Tuesday. Through a partnership with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), the Pfizer vaccine will be made available to crew members.Latest
