Three died because of dengue fever in Saint Lucia

The ministry of health has received the results of two suspected dengue deaths. The ministry has been investigating into this matter as two individuals alleged died due to the dengue outbreak in Saint Lucia.
The blood samples were sent to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) in Trinidad and Tobago.
The results have declared the cause of death dengue- a mosquito borne tropical disease. The death toll due to dengue in Saint Lucia is now three as the authorities struggle to control the outbreak.
As per the statistics provided by the ministry of health Saint Lucia
there are a total of 711 confirmed cases and numbers continues to rise.
The northern portion of the island nation continues to record the highest numbers of cases, while outbreak proceeds throughout the country impacting hundreds of people.
The health ministry of the country requested people to take precautions and avoid the mosquitos by using insect repellent, clothing or mosquito nets.
Besides this, people are also encouraged to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants during the hours of excessive mosquito activity.
Health Minister also declared that the average age of the affirmed cases that have come up so far is 19 years, with an age range from three weeks to 84 years. The ministry claims to have the least confirmed dengue cases in the age group five to 14 years which account for approximately 38 per cent of the total affirmed cases.
