100-days of St Lucia Labour Party were misery, deceit and bluffs: Allen Chastanet
Leader of opposition Allen Chastanet stated that the St Lucia Labour Party has not been able to do anything in its 100 days of tenure.

Castries, St Lucia: The leading opposition of St Lucia, the United Workers Party (UWP), stated the government under St Lucia Labour Party (SLP) failed to deliver any of its key promises. They said Leader of opposition Allen Chastanet stated that the St Lucia Labour Party has not been able to do anything in its 100 days of tenure. UWP said the newly elected government promised to remove the $1.50 Excise tax on Fuel for the fishermen, but it has not been done. The opposition said thousands of St Lucians are waiting for their $1500/month support during the pandemic as promised by the SLP. "I know many persons who are also awaiting the promised Income Tax Return of $5000. When can they expect this? What about the promise of raising the Income Tax Allowance so that persons who are making $4,000 and less would no longer have to pay income tax?" questioned Allen Chastanet in a press release on Thursday. He said the first 100 days of this SLP Administration could be summarized as 100 days of misery, deceit and bluffs. St Lucia Labour Party succeeded in ousting the United Workers Party-led government because of their massive failures during the coronavirus pandemic. The party is completing its 100-days of the government of 13 November 2021 as the new cabinet was sworn in on 5 August 2021.
