Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Timothy Harris participated in. the homegoing service of Babe Guishard, who was famously known for being the mother, grandmother, aunt, villager, supporter, choir member of the Methodist Church.
PM Harris said that Babe was a loving mother strong, stern in instilling values in her children, "She taught them to stand their ground, defend first so nobody would knock them bout,"
Sharing memories of Babe Guishard, PM Harris added, "My recollection of her as a small child growing up was as the mother of Howard "Bluey" Liburd my classmate and Deka the best friend of my cousin Miss Johnny Wilhemina Harris Hazel,"
He stated that Guishard taught kids how to love God, and several of them like her became proud and distinguished members of the church choir. PM said she served God well and her church excellently with her voice, her tithes, and offerings.
"I will remember although failing in health, she made it to the polling box, I had no doubt her "X" was one more in support of my candidacy and leadership. I will remember how liberally she gave me support, advice, counselling, encouragement, warning and sanctions. Through it all she was there for me,"
"Babe, my adopted mother, friend and supporter, you prepared us for this while the days were going by," said the Prime Minister.
