Premier of Nevis and Leader of Concerned Citizens Movement Mark Brantley has once again lashed on the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) for not supporting the people of their island.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Brantley alleged that the NRP had not made any participation in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic to save innocent lives.
He added that now the party is against his efforts to bring the rightful share of the Citizenship by Investment Programme to Nevis. He questioned if the NRP is really dedicated to Nevisians.
"The NRP REFUSED to join the fight against Covid19 to save lives. The NRP REFUSES to join the fight for Nevis to get its rightful share from CBI. Is the NRP really for Nevisians," wrote Brantley.
Mark Brantley has been demanding a fair share of citizenship by investment programme revenues for Nevis. He is standing firm on his demands that the Team Unity government must follow the Charlestown Accord, which was signed by the leaders of the People's Labour Party (PLP), People's Action Movement (PAM), and Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM).
The accord, which was designed by Mark Brantley, was signed by Timothy Harris of PLP, Shawn Richards of PAM, and Vance Amory on behalf of CCM on 17 December 2014.
As per the Charlestown Accord, the revenues of the Citizenship by Investment Programme must be shared between the two islands on a population basis.
The leader of the People's Action Movement and Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Shawn Richards also demanded the government to give a "fair share to Nevis". While the Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris has maintained that Nevis has always been compensated well, and the government continue its all promises towards the sister island. However, Mark Brantley, on the other hand, stated that the government never revealed the actual figures of the CBI Programme.
