As per reports, a woman succumbed after receiving the first dose of Pfizer coronavirus vaccine in New Zealand. An independent vaccine safety oversight board said the woman's death was "possibly" due to myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle.
The board said there could be some other medical issues that could have resulted in the woman's death after vaccination.
European regulators stated that myocarditis is a "very rare" side effect and that the benefits of vaccination outweigh the hazards.
The cause of death has not been confirmed by any New Zealand officials. However, the Covid-19 Vaccine Independent Safety Supervisory Board said the myocarditis was "possibly due to the vaccine".
"This is the first case in New Zealand where death in the days after the injection has been connected to the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. While the Center for Adverse Reactions Monitoring has received other reports people dying after getting vaccines; while the authorities said those are not linked to COVID vaccineThe woman's death is being investigated, and a coroner will rule over the case. Officials have not released any further details, including the woman of age.
The European Medicine Agency highlighted myocarditis as a "very rare" side effect of Pfizer and Modern vaccines, adding that side effects were more common in younger men.
For example, the UK has seen 195 reports of myocarditis in people who have received the Pfizer vaccine, at a rate of around five cases per million. Most of these cases have led to mild symptoms.
The EMA has urged people to continue vaccinating as they help stop people from becoming very ill with Covid-19.Symptoms of myocarditis may include newly started chest pain, shortness of breath and an abnormal heartbeat.
Experts urge anyone who experiences these symptoms in the days after vaccination to seek immediate medical attention.

On Monday, New Zealand officials said they "remain confident about the use of the [Pfizer vaccine] in New Zealand".
According to Johns Hopkins University, the country has so far seen 3,465 covid cases and 26 deaths.
New Zealand was initially praised for its handling of the virus but has since seen a slow rollout of vaccines, although it has risen in recent days.
More than three million vaccine doses have been administered, and 23% of the population are now fully vaccinated. A recent Spike and Covid case, attributed to the Delta variant, has put large parts of the country under siege. There are currently more than 560 cases in the country of around 5 million people.
Restrictions will be eased on Tuesday, without the largest city in the country Auckland.
