Man who raped a minor for 6 years, granted bail in Trinidad and Tobago

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: A Trinidad and Tobago court granted bail to the 25-year-old man who repeatedly raped a minor for over six years. The accused was charged with five counts of rape, including sexual penetration, counts of sexual touching and indecent assault.
On Monday, the accused appeared before Magistrate Erica Baptiste-Ramkissoon at the Sangre Grande Magistrate's Court; he was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 with a surety.
The accused, a labourer from Rio Claro, was captured by police when the relatives of the minor victim reported that he used to sexually penetrate the girl whenever she was home alone. As per the victim's family members, all of it continued from 2013- 2019. Soon after the police complaint was lodged, WPC La Fortune of the Eastern Division Child Protection Unit carried out the investigation.

bail just two days after. The court asked the accused to stay 250 meters away from the victim, and he must also report at the Rio Claro Police Station every Tuesday.
The accused was charged with five offences:
- One count of Sexual Penetration
- Two counts Sexual Touching
- Two counts of Indecent Assault
Crime in Trinidad and Tobago is on a new heights, police have asked the people to safeguard their minor children from such perpetrators. Police also denied to release the photographs of the accused due to the sensitivity of the case.
