Two new COVID19 cases confirmed in St. Kitts and Nevis

Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has affirmed two cases of deadly coronavirus. With this, the total no of COVID19 cases goes to 22, out of which fortunately 19 has been recovered and three remains are under the observation. As per the Health administration, the new 2 cases has been imported from other countries from October 31.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, (SKNIS)- Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis has affirmed two cases of deadly coronavirus. With this, the total no of COVID19 cases goes to 22, out of which fortunately 19 has been recovered and three remains are under the observation. As per the Health administration, the new 2 cases has been imported from other countries from October 31. Chief Medical Officer, Dr Hazel Laws, gave this statement at the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) COVID-19 Press Briefing on November 24. Dr Laws stated that as two new cases have been entered in the country, this is a very serious concern for us, we have to take it as very sincerely. She also added that those who came from the other countries had been quarantined. She also pointed out that the protocols that we have made, people have been adhered to these protocols, and must follow all of them. The government have also been made the corridor of containment between their entry and exit into the country at RLB International Airport and the hotel where foreigners are staying. Dr Laws remarked that significant contacts of the two cases are currently being examined, are being placed in quarantine, tested and monitored. “Our contact tracing system is quite strong here in the Federation,” said Dr Laws. The Chief Medical Officer stated that all passengers, who would have appeared in the Federation on the same flight as the two new confirmed cases, are in quarantine and restricted to their rooms.   Globally, the cases of the corona are suddenly rising again and as per the WHO, second and third waves has been entered in many countries. The number of cases of coronavirus in countries like USA and India has been crossed 10 million.  Despite, all these negative news, there has also been the few good news also in the world that those vaccines are near completion.
