The reports suggest Sereste Brittlebank assaulted his wife in July and was charged with unlawful wounding. The matter was dismissed against Sereste Brittlebank during his appearance at Vigilance Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Series Brittlebank's wife told police that the incident happened on July 8th, 2021, after they arrived home from a party. She had approached his co-worker and told them about her husband unfaithful acts. Brittlebank soon confronted his wife and started to brutally beat her after they reached home.

In July, Brittlebank had appeared before Magistrate Fabian Azore, where he was charged with unlawful wounding and was placed on remand after the said charge was read to him. The man was freed on Monday. People are highly disappointed with the court's verdict and blame the corrupt culture. Many denounced the court for acting biased as the man is a police officer.
