St Kitts and Nevis: Leanna Napoleon suspect ‘attempts suicide in police cell’
Police are still searching for third man

Police in St Kitts and Nevis have confirmed that a man being held in custody attempted to take their own life on Monday evening.
Sources have told WIC News that the incident involved Travien Liddie. The 18-year-old has been charged with the murder of Basseterre High School Student Leanna Napoleon, whose body was discovered over a month since she went missing. The suicide attempt came just hours after Liddie was formally charged.Leanna’s brother Brandon Lee Wells, 19, has also been charged.
In a statement, the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force said: “Upon discovery of this attempt, a police officer initiated a medical emergency.
“The person was taken to the Joseph N France General Hospital for medical observation, and later detained under watch for other observations.”
The officer was commended for his adherence to the prisoner control procedures and for responding quickly to the incident, they added.
Missing suspect
It emerged yesterday that police are searching for a third man in connection with Leanna’s murder.
Ivan “Chinyman” Phillip will be charged with murder when located, authorities confirmed.
But in a twist, Phillip is one of two brothers reported missing by their mother.
A morning report from the police states that Millicent Millicent Phillip called Basseterre Police Station and disclosed that she has not seen or heard from her two sons – Joel and Ivan Phillip – since Tuesday 13th June.
The report to the police was made on June 17th.
No missing persons bulletin has been issued by St Kitts and Nevis police in relation to the brothers.
